  2. AWS is use for IT, Big data analytics, for storage and backup
  3. It is use for hosting websites and apps.

AWS Infrastructure

  1. AWS Regions.

AWS has region concept, it has physical location all the word, it has cluster data centers, each group of logical data center is called an Availability Zone.

  • AWS Availability Zones

Each region has many availability zones minimum 3 and maximum 6 availability zone.

eg: ap-southeast-2a, ap-southeast-2b, ap-southeast-2c

An Availability Zone is one or more discrete data centers with redundant power and connectivity and they are separate to each other, they are connected with ultra-low latency networking, it gives the ability to customer to operate production applications and databases.

AWS Points of Presence

AWS has 400 plus Points of Presence 400 plus Edge Locations and 10 plus region in 40 plus countries.

AWS Services

Global services.

  1. IAM (Identity and Access Management
  2. Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  3. CloudFront (Content Delivery Network)
  4. Route 53 (DNS Service)

Region Services

  1. EC2 (Infrastructure as a service)
  2. Lambda (Function as a Service)
  3. Elastic Beanstalk (Platform as a service)

IAM (Identity and Access Management)

Users and group in IAM

IAM is a Global Service, in IAM root account created by default, users of organization can be the part of single or multiple groups, group are use for containing users we can’t keep another group inside any group.
